Short Mountain Sanctuary is an off-grid LGBTQ+ homestead and 501(c)(3) nonprofit, providing hands-on sustainability education and a sacred gathering space for queer and trans people to commune with one another in nature.

Our gatherings are unique celebrations of queer spirit—offering deep ritual, artistic expression, connection with the land and ancestors, and the magic of community. Rooted in liberation and self-determination, we uplift women, BIPOC, and trans folk while fostering ecological awareness, radical empowerment, and free expression.

Gatherings are the primary fundraiser by which this sacred land and its stewards are supported year round.  Events operate on a NOTAFLOF (No One Turned Away for Lack of Funds) basis, ensuring accessibility for all.

Separated from the mundane world, we revel in the freedom of each other’s company, connect physically & emotionally, and find healing & transformation.
